Viewing a second |
Overview:You may find the need to view more than one IFAS mailbox within Outlook. One example would be when you have a mail-enabled service account (if-svc-whatever) for some departmental service. The Entomology and Nematology department has several, including one for the Insect ID Lab. The person currently in charge of checking this account also has his own personal IFAS mailbox and uses Outlook. How can things be configured so that person sees both mailboxes? This is a two step process as follows. Setting permissions on the second mailbox:If you know the credentials on the service account (which you should be able control for yourself as the OU Admin) you should logon to Windows with those credentials and configure Outlook for that Exchange account. Once that is done and you are in Outlook:
If you don't know the account credentials for the second mailbox, send a request to Dwight Jesseman to grant the individual owner privileges. Note: If you grant a security group (. ifas-) this right, then you can simply add accounts in and out of that group to control the permissions for access to the mailbox. BUT, the security group itself must be mail-enabled to even show up in the Outlook interface for applying permissions (not quite a catch-22, but hard to get your mind around the first time perhaps). Adding in the second mailbox:Now log all the way out of Windows and logon as the user who wants to add the second mailbox. You will likely need their assistance for this, not knowing the correct credentials.
