NMB handling on hire and fire:


Return to IT/SA Services Exit procedures and permission removal

Overview:

Currently the process of adding or removing someone from an IFAS OU is done via the Network Managed By (NMB) relationship in the UF Directory. That setting controls the location of the user account within UFAD, and consequently the membership in OU autogroups. Below are the procedures for managing those. Obtaining the rights to manage the NMB relationship is explained here.

Hiring Process:

  1. Login to http://my.ufl.edu
  2. From Menu on the left, click Quick Links --> Click Admin Menu 3. Under Administrative Applications Menu on the right, you may need to click the + under Directory to expand to see MANAGE DIRECTORY INFORMATION.
         Note: a more direct link to the admin menu is http://www.bridges.ufl.edu/admin
  3. Click MANAGE DIRECTORY INFORMATION.
  4. If person's UF ID is available, type it in the UFID field, otherwise click Lookup Person, then find the person using the lastname,first field, then click on the person's name in the Search Results screen.
  5. Click Get Basic Info so that the person's name and Organization is showing.
  6. Click Relate Person from Manage Directory Information Menu.
  7. Click Network Managed By from the Select Affilation pulldown.
  8. Click Lookup PS Department. Type in part of the name for your department. Enter AG- to see all department names.
  9. Check that the Department ID is correct for your department name, as several department names are the same for different department IDs.
  10. Click the Name of your department.
  11. Click Submit

Termination Process:

  1. Login to http://my.ufl.edu
  2. From Menu on the left, click Quick Links --> Click Admin Menu
  3. Under Administrative Applications Menu on the right, you may need to click the + under Directory to expand to see MANAGE DIRECTORY INFORMATION.

  4. Click MANAGE DIRECTORY INFORMATION.
  5. If person's UF ID is available, type it in the UFID field, otherwise click Lookup Person, then find the person using the lastname,first field, then click on the person's name in the Search Results screen.
  6. Click Get Basic Info so that the person's name and Organization is showing.
  7. Click Relate Person from Manage Directory Information Menu.
  8. Click Remove next to IFAS relationships.
