Patching updates... (previous discussion)

Microsoft

October's Microsoft patches are listed in the link. Current risk assessments can be found here.

There were several Microsoft Office updates to the Apple version, as recently as 9/11/18. Please run AutoUpdater to install those updates.

Also, if you are using OneDrive on your Mac, you may have to manually update to the latest version. I updated to the production version of their to test some new features.

Adobe

Flash, Acrobat, Reader, Connect, along with several other Adobe products, have updates here. Last updates were in October 9th.

Java

Java updates were in July for Java 8U181, for all major platforms. Release notes can be found here. Java 9.0.4 is now available. You can download it here.

Apple

There have been several Apple updates (August 28th), including a new system update, security updates and printer driver updates. This includes High Sierra, Sierra and El Capitan, along with iOS updates.

Keep in mind, Apple just released their newest OS, Mojave, on Sept. 24, 2018. There are a lot of cool new features.

SAS

SAS University Edition recently had an update. Please visit this link.

JMP

JMP 13 is now available through the UF Software Licensing Division.

Sigmaplot

Sigmaplot 14 is now available through the UF Software Licensing Division.

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor was expected to have all current and new staff enrolled by July 1st. I haven't seen any updates on the stats.

It does seem that Cisco bought the Duo Security, so time will tell how much changes over the next 6 months to a year.

Policy

Content Management System (CMS) (previous discussion)

For those of you that are looking for form use and design within T4, please know that Gravity Forms is available for use and that ICS uses Wordpress for that function and you then iFrame it into your T4 site.

Updates as available.

Last month's IT@UF Meeting Notes

You can now view the notes from each meeting at this link.

ITSA Policy and UF IT Policy

I've found it difficult to find the ITSA Computing Policy and the UF IT Policies, so I will provide the links here and keep them here.

ITSA - http://imm.ifas.ufl.edu

UF IT - http://www.it.ufl.edu/policies/

There will now be an ICC Policy Page that will keep track of policy and guidelines. These are not strict rules meant to dictate what must be done, but instead, a page of policies that are meant to help keep things running smoothly for each department and ITSA. You can find it here.

ITPAC will be meeting on Monday, October 15th. I will keep everyone posted on how the meeting goes, in regards to several policy recommendations dealing with the ICC.

Andrew Carey provided a link to fixing incorrectly named devices. You can find it here.

Projects

We are currently working on a new ICC site and integration of Yammer. Stay Tuned! The new site is planning on using Microsoft Teams, pending the outcome of the software policy exception being brought forth to the ITPAC members.

Teams is now closer to fruition more than ever. We'll get an update in just a minute.

ICC Retreat

After the launch of Fall Semester slows down, we will work on a couple of dates to choose from for our next retreat in the Spring.

Operations

IFAS IT Updates (previous discussion)

DeWayne is going to give us an update on the 1809 Windows update and ITSA's schedule in regards to mandatory upgrades, deployment, etc.

PowerShell Learning Group is still going strong. If you would like to catch up on any of the classes that you've missed, please email Andrew Carey
